Jose Gregorio’s artworks primarily fall under medium of painting, with a strong surreal style. He enjoys the cellular breakdown of the figure whose passion for the primary cells of human life is present in all his works, it is almost an obsession. Jogre, pseudonym with which he used to sign his works, usually painted on recycled fabrics, recovered from tablecloths and curtains in decorations for parties. Jogre takes advantage of the texture that this approach to recreate magic and illusionary effects. However, he also has affection for sculptures and poetry which continues cultivate.
Jose has completed a Painter Interior Design practice in 2009, in New York and earned his Bachelor of Art in 2012, in Fairleigh Dickinson University. Currently he is pursuing his Masters Degree. When he arrived in New York City 8 years ago, he immediately fell in love with the art world and has been performing as Assistant Freelance Event Designer, art teacher in various art summer camps in Brooklyn and Children’s Party Entertainer. Jogre participated in “Out of Our Dreams” art exhibit in 2011, benefitting the Aid for AIDS International.
