Our mission is to open new ways of accessing Latin-American culture and art through activities that help to promote and preserve the different traditions and values of the countries of Latin America.
The Institute of Latin American Art & Culture (ICAL) is a non-profit organization established in June of 2005 in Hackensack, New Jersey.
ICAL is composed of parents, professionals, artists, students and active leaders in our community who are involved in the creation of educational programs to promote our culture, preserve our traditions and disseminate our values and interests as a community of Latin Americans.
ICAL sponsors artistic, sporting and informative events that enable the integration and participation of Latino and not Latino by consolidating the concept of ownership, strengthening our cultural identity and broadening our perspectives towards a global enrichment in the Bergen County.
ICAL welcomes, examines, analyzes and promotes initiatives by other organizations in order to create collaborations for holding events, to promote our ethnic foods, dance, literature, music, art, theatre, handcrafts, languages, sports and entertainment. ICAL has its doors open to everyone, without distinction of nationality, religion, ethnic, social or economic status, who might have interest on discovering or sharing our cultural diversity.
